Our Story

ElLemuel is a minority-led nonprofit organization committed to addressing the housing needs of moderate to middle-income individuals and families. Operating as a federally incorporated entity in Ontario, we were founded on October 8, 2024, by Wendi Felician. Our organization emerged in response to the growing gap in affordable housing for moderate-income earners, particularly after the initial organization, now known as ElLemuel Charitable Foundation, had to shift its focus to low-income individuals, families, and seniors to meet the requirements for charitable status. At ElLemuel, we believe that everyone deserves access to stable, affordable housing, regardless of their income level. Our mission is to create housing solutions specifically for moderate-income earners, who are increasingly being squeezed by rising rents and home prices. We are dedicated to building more affordable housing units, offering rent-to-own options, and ensuring that families have a path to homeownership. As we work toward our goals, we focus on acquiring and renovating older homes in disrepair, providing immediate relief and revitalizing neighborhoods. As we grow, we are also committed to new construction to meet the long-term housing needs of moderate-income families. We recognize that tackling the housing crisis requires collaboration. That’s why we actively seek partnerships with municipalities, corporations, banks, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that moderate-income earners aren’t left behind in this critical issue. At ElLemuel, we are dedicated to creating lasting, positive change and working tirelessly to provide stable and affordable homes for families.
